My favorite subject

I love taking pictures of babies and children. I think it's because they have no fear. Adults shy away and get embarrassed. A kid will give you all they got. Tons of attitude and lots of personality. I love how flawless their skin is and how pink their cheeks are.

Aidan!

Aidan is such a ham. He tends to really play up his sillyness when I whip out my camera. But he takes some darn cute pics. Here are two pictures I took of him. I'm still trying to figure out this new lens....

Lovin em while they last

I'm loving my lilacs while they are still in bloom. I seem to be outside taking pictures of them everyday. I know they don't last forever so I'm enjoying them while they are here and making my yard (and house) smell yummy. Can't get enough of them

New Lens!!

Hubby bought me a new lens today! It's not a super fancy one, but it'll take sometime for me to get used to it. It's the nifty fifty :) Here are my first few shots with the new lens...Layla was once again my subject.

Heidi, 7months

She's growing up so fast! I got a ton of lovely photos of Heidi. She's sooo photogenic and really knows how to work the camera ;)

Before and After

Here is a picture I took of Aidan playing around with some lilacs. I didn't think it was a spectacular photo when I took it, but with a little tweeking, it's turned out quite lovely



I warmed up the photo to reduce the cool tones, lightened it a tad, pumped up the saturation a bit and added a slight vignette.



I think what I love the most is how the purple and blue really pop along with the green grass in the background. Also, with Aidan's eyes closed his eyelashes really stand out....wasted on a boy...

Costa Rican Colours

I LOVED Costa Rica! This is a picture of a side of the road vendor. He was selling these...not sure what the are...blankets? sarongs? Either way, they are beautiful!
